Purpose: To assess the qualifications and capabilities of individuals currently engaged in or seeking to engage in business as a Journeyperson, Master Electrician, or Restricted Electrician, and to perform any other functions as outlined under Chapter 11.

Master and Restricted Electricians can now apply to register for or renew their credentials through the Planning and Zoning Citizen Self Service Portal! Master Electrician Registration Requirements
Master Electricians who have never held a Master Registration with Queen Anne's County must verify their identity either in person or via Zoom. All new applicants must be reviewed and approved by the board.
Master Electricians who have previously held a Master Registration with Queen Anne's County are required to renew their most recent registration, rather than applying for a new one.
Required Documents for a New or Renewal Application
- Completed Application (See form below)
- Copy of a valid photo ID (new applicants only)
- Copy of Maryland Electrical License
- Copy of Certificate of Insurance
- Queen Anne's County Board of Electrical Supervisors listed as the Certificate Holder
- The electrician's name must appear on the certificate. (Note: Your Queen Anne's County registration is issued to the individual, not a company
- General liability insurance of at least $300,000 and property damage insurance of at least $100,000
Restricted Electrician License Requirements
Restricted Electricians who have never held a Restricted License with Queen Anne's County must verify their identity either in person or via Zoom. All new applicants must be reviewed and approved by the board.
Restricted Electricians who have previously held a Restricted License with Queen Anne's County are required to renew their most recent license, rather than applying for a new one.
Required Documents for a New or Renewal Application

- Copy of a valid photo ID (new applicants only)
- Copy of License from home county
- Copy of your certificate for completing 5 hours of continuing education. The continuing education certificate must be dated July 2023 to present. Certificates will be accepted from providers that have been approved by the State Board
- Letter of good standing (of you are an out-of-county electrician)
- Copy of Certificate of Insurance
- Queen Anne's County Board of Electrical Supervisors listed as the Certificate Holder
- The electrician's name must appear on the certificate. (Note: Your Queen Anne's County license is issued to the individual, not a company

Electricians who have NEVER held a registration or license in Queen Anne's County can submit their application and required documents using one of the following methods:

Electricians who HAVE held a registration or license in Queen Anne's County are required to RENEW their most recent credentials. Renewals can be submitted with a completed application and required documents using one of the following methods:
Online Portal
- Use the online portal linked above to renew your credentials electronically
- To renew online, you must have an active online account and use your most recent credential. If you don't have an account, that's okay -- you can create one, and it will link to your credentials automatically. Call (410) 758-4088 to confirm the email address we have on file before creating your account.

New Applicants and Renewals
Invoices
- Once your application (new or renewal) has been reviewed and verified for completeness, an invoice will be generated. You will receive an email notification when your invoice is ready. Please allow 7-10 business days for application review.
- If you do not have an email address on file, please note that no other form of notification will be sent. You are responsible for checking your account to see when a payment is due.
Registrations and Licenses will NOT be issued or considered active until full payment is received.
