Park Projects
Projects in progress are:
- Opioid awareness trail to be installed at Route 18 Park and Church Hill Park.
- Installing a new artificial turf field at Batts Neck and Church Hill Park.
- Installing a sand volleyball court at Church Hill Park.
- Install 3 safety traffic signals at trail crossings.
- Fallen Hero's Memorial Tree replacement.
- Continue Route 8 trail extension.
- Outside bathroom replacement at Matapeake Clubhouse.
- Install roofs for various ballfield dugouts.
- Replace Round Top court fencing and fabric replacement.
- Wrap the Crumpton Shop building siding.
- Install a dog park at White Marsh Park.
- Install a skate park at the Lands of Terrapin, Cockey Lane.
- Renovate the courts at Round Top Park to host 2 pickleball and 1 basketball court.
- Replace basketball court lights at Pinkney Park.
- Color coat and stripe the basketball court at Pinkney Park.
Queen Anne's County Parks and Recreation has been working diligently to improve our Park system. Some of the major projects that were completed in 2022 were
- Installed field lighting on the bermuda fields at White Marsh Park.
- Replaced the playground at Route 18 Park.
- Installed a Ranger Station and Restroom facility at Terrapin Nature Park.
- 10 new pickleball courts installed at Mowbray Park
- Remodeled the courts at Grasonville Park to include 1 tennis, 2 pickleball, and 1 basketball court.
- Upgraded the lighting at Mowbray pickleball courts.
- Installed new lighting for the tennis courts at Old Love Point Park.
- Paved Grasonville Park trail and parking lot.
- New ballfield fencing was installed at Route 18, Batts Neck and Old Love Point Park.
- Installed an irrigation well at White Marsh Park.
- Installed a pole barn at Terrapin Maintenance Shop.
- Installed natural area protective fencing at Terrapin Nature Park and Matapeake Beach.
- Paved the Fallen Hero's Memorial parking lot.
- Installed new greenhouse cover at Conquest.
- Exterior renovations completed at Matapeake Clubhouse.
- Trail repair and sealcoat for Route 18 and Suldersville Park Trails.
Queen Anne's County Parks and Recreation has been working diligently to improve our Park system. Some of the major projects that were completed in 2021 were:
- Replace ballfield lights at Old Love Point, field 4.
- With help from volunteers, planted 12,000 tree whips at Blue Heron Nature Preserve.
- Paved, striped, and installed standards for
- 2 Basketball courts at Old Love Point Park
- 2 Basketball courts at Pinkney Park
- 2 Basketball courts at Church Hill Park
- 2 Tennis court with 4 pickleball overlays at Round Top Park
- Seal coated the Cross Island Trail
- Hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Opioid Awareness to showcase the new plantings, memorial benches and purple color coating along the trail at Old Love Point
- In partnership with QAC Library we installed stands for their Story Walk program along the trails at Rt.18, Sudlersville, and Long Point Parks.
- Revamped the parking lot island at Wells Cove.
- Batts Neck parking lot was repaved and installed new parking lot islands with fencing and plantings.
- Remodeled the bathroom inside and out at Batts Neck Park.
- Reestablished a 90' ball diamond at Batts Neck with a grass infield.
- Renovated ball diamond infields at Rt.18 and White Marsh Park.
- Removed invasive trees along the Cross Island Trail near Kent Narrows and replanted with Crepe Myrtles.
- In partnership with MORE, created the Off-Road Trail @ Terrapin.
- Replaced the ballfield backstops at Old Love Point, Field 3 and 4.
- Replaced the homerun fence at Old Love Point, Field 3.
- New homerun fence installed at Rt.18, Field 4.
- Created a natural surface trail at Crumpton Park.
