Public Works Tornado Recovery August 9th Update

The Batts Neck Dump will be open daily from 8 AM-4 PM through Saturday, August 12. Residents and their Contractors may still use the Batts Neck Dump (transfer stations) to dispose of yard waste storm debris. This includes downed trees, tree limbs, brush, stumps, and chipped yard waste. No fees or tickets will be charged for yard waste storm debris during the cleanup period. Residents only may deliver storm related construction &... demolition debris for disposal at Batts Neck. This includes lumber, shingles, glass, metal and other general storm damaged building materials with no volume restrictions. Starting the week of August 14 the Batts Neck Dump will go back to its regular schedule with normal rules and policies - Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays- 8AM to 4PM.

Self-service Dumpsters staged in the community of Bay City for local drop-off will be available through Sunday, August 13. Locations include: the Pavilion, 603 Zaidee Lane, 409 McKay Road and at the intersection of Buckingham & William Way. These dumpsters are for storm damage materials only, no trees or stumps.

County Public Works crews are continuing curbside pickup of storm damage debris free of charge with a final early morning pickup on Friday, August 11. Residents and volunteers can place tree branches and other storm damaged construction demolition debris (wood, siding, outdoor furniture, metal items etc.) along the side of the road. Please keep trees, construction demolition debris and metals in separate piles so we can recycle them.

Port-o-Pots that have been placed throughout the community will be removed on Monday, August 14.
