SUDLERSVILLE - The Foxxi Lady Quilters are pleased to donated Quilts for Children of Trauma to the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office, December 20. A family from Delaware donated much of the fabric used for this project to the Sudlersville Senior Center. A group of twelve quilting students and volunteers dedicated the last four months to this project.
First responders handle many accidents and domestic calls each year. These calls tend to increase during Christmas and New Years. The quilters thought these small quilts would comfort children in these situations. The Quilters would like to thank Shelley Wheatman, center manager and Sheriff Gary Hoffman for their time and support of our project.
The quilters meet at the Sudlersville Senior Center on Tuesdays. The class is part of the Division of Continuing Education and Workforce training by Chesapeake College and participant volunteer hours.
Quilters and those that would like to learn are welcome to join the group. Donations of fabric, notions and other miscellaneous sewing/quilting item are always welcome.
