The Queen Anne’s County Department of Parks and Recreation will temporarily close a section of the Cross Island Trail near the baseball fields at Kent Island High School on Thursday, October 23, and Friday, October 24, to allow for essential maintenance work.
The closure will affect the section of trail between Route 18 and Old Love Point Park. The trail will be inaccessible while crews work to repair a leaking pipe that has caused sinkholes on the adjacent baseball field.
Trail users should stop at Route 18 and may re-enter the trail at the Old Love Point Park entrance.
Queen Anne’s County Parks and Recreation appreciates the community’s patience and understanding as these improvements are made. The work is subject to change depending on weather conditions.
