Congratulations to Queen Anne’s County Teacher of the Year, Miss Marcie Mamas!
Miss Mamas, a dedicated educator at Kent Island High School for 30 years, has inspired countless students through her teaching across multiple subjects. One initiative especially close to her heart is her marketing and business courses, where students manage the school store—gaining hands-on experience in administration, marketing, and operations.
As part of a long-standing tradition, the County Commissioners presented Miss Mamas with a gift of her choice to support her work. She selected an A2Z Heat Press, which will enhance her students’ learning by allowing them to design and produce school-branded apparel. The project will begin with creating shirts for the school and may expand to serve clubs, sports teams, and even the local community—all managed by the students.
Miss Mamas was joined by Kent Island High School Principal Dan Harding and Interim Assistant Superintendent Dr. Schrecongost for the presentation.
Congratulations again to Miss Marcie Mamas on this well-deserved recognition!
