April is officially Month of the Young Child in Queen Anne’s County!
The Queen Anne’s County Commissioners have joined the State of Maryland in recognizing April as a time to honor and invest in our youngest citizens. Children are the heart of our future, and it is our responsibility as a community to ensure they are raised in safe, stable, and nurturing environments.
We know that the first five years are critical in shaping a child’s development. That’s why we support high-quality early childhood education and accessible childcare for all families. We are committed to building a community where all young children are seen as capable learners, encouraged in their growth, and surrounded by kindness, love, and opportunity.
This April, we encourage everyone to: Celebrate the achievements and potential of young children. Support early learning programs and the professionals who make them possible. Advocate for strong policies that uplift families and children. Connect with caregivers to foster supportive environments. Promote health—emotional, social, intellectual, and physical—for every child.
Let’s give a special THANK YOU to the dedicated educators, caregivers, and advocates who work every day to help our children thrive.
