Queen Anne’s County Announces Opening of Micro Agricultural Grant Round 5
Applications Open for Funding to Support Local Agricultural Businesses
Queen Anne's County Economic and Tourism Development (QACETD) is pleased to announce the opening of the 5th round of the Micro Agricultural Grant Program. This grant offers funding between $2,500 and $10,000 for agricultural businesses in Queen Anne’s County seeking to expand, diversify, and innovate. The application period is now open, with a deadline of February 10, 2025. Funding for this program is provided by Upper Shore Regional Council and Queen Anne’s County’s Board of County Commissioners.
This year’s grant funding will continue to focus on advancing agriculture in Queen Anne's County by supporting projects in marketing, capital improvements, climate resilience, agritourism, and research. With a focus on fostering growth and sustainability, this initiative continues to empower local farmers and ag entrepreneurs to thrive in a rapidly changing agricultural landscape.
“The Micro Ag Grant Program is an essential tool for fostering innovation among Queen Anne’s County’s agricultural entrepreneurs,” said Rebecca Clark, Economic Development Administrator at QACETD. “We are proud to continue our support of businesses that are helping shape the future of agriculture and agritourism in the region. This funding provides opportunities for both small and established ag businesses to implement their growth strategies and expand their market reach.”
A sample of past recipients of the Micro Ag Grant include Sudlersville Meat Locker, SunKissed Flower Farm, Oksana's Produce Farm, King Mushrooms, Quillen Farms, and Scout Applicators, all of whom have used their grants to improve efficiencies and attract new customers.
