Applications Being Accepted for “Teen of Character” Scholarship Award
2023 Faye Lister Teen of Character Scholarship
The Character Counts! Advisory Council is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2022 Faye Lister Teen of Character Scholarship. This $500 scholarship, made possible through the Centreville Rotary, is available to any high school senior who resides in Queen Anne’s County and exemplifies the six Pillars of Character – Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.
Anyone may nominate a student for this scholarship, including the students themselves. Nominations may also be made by a community member including teachers, parents, employers, club moderators, neighbors or anyone wishing to recognize a special high School Senior residing in Queen Anne’s County. Nomination is a quick process including a brief application and a Nomination Letter of 350 words or less describing how a student’s actions exemplify the six Pillars of Character. All nominees must be candidates planning on attending a college or trade school.
Applications will be distributed to various high schools in Queen Anne’s County or can be found at www.peopleofcharacter.org. You may also pick up a copy at the Character Counts! office at 104 Powell Street in Centreville.
All applications must be received by Friday, April 14, 2023 for consideration.
