Theatre Workshops Now Open for Grade 6 and Older
There is still time to register for the Queen Anne’s County Parks and Recreation theatre workshops. We have opened the workshop up to additional registrants and can accommodate those in 6th grade and older.
Each workshop consists of 5 classes offered on Wednesdays from 5:00 – 6:00 PM, at Matapeake Clubhouse, 2010 Sonny Schultz Blvd in Stevensville. Each workshop costs $125.00 but if you register for both workshops, there is a $50.00 savings.
The first workshop, Act I-Acting for the Stage will be held on April 12, 19, 26 and May 3. This workshop will help work though the audition process and how to make a performance stand out. Learn various theatre training techniques and theatre games to uncover details of a character and bring them to life on stage. Discover various physical and emotional language expressions.
The second workshop, Act II – Musical Theatre will be held on May 10, 17, 24 and 31. Students will learn or strengthen the art of Musical Theatre. Build a foundation of healthy signing exercises and techniques. Gain confidence while working on individual and ensemble pieces. Begin the process of learning “how to” act and dance while singing.
