County Commissioners Announce Funding for the Sudlersville Memorial Library
At the final budget hearing on May 25 in Sudlersville, County Commissioners announced a funding source for Sudlersville Memorial Library for this fiscal year and moving forward.
$65,000 was included in the tax set off for the Town of Sudlersville so that the funding source for the library will be in the budget this year and moving forward. By adding the funding to the tax set off, the Town of Sudlersville can address increases to the budget during the Tax Set Off Hearings for the municipalities which are held every year as part of the budget process.
“The library is an integral part of the town of Sudlersville. Making this move just makes sense and will strengthen the bond between the town, library and the county as a whole.” Said County Commissioner Jack Wilson
Sudlersville Memorial Library is one of the only two independent libraries in Maryland. They have been in operation since the late 1800’s. To learn more about the Sudlersville Memorial Library visit https://www.sudlersvillelibrary.org/
