QAC Commissioners Show Support for the Class of 2022
A recent letter distributed by the senior class at Kent Island High School told a story of an unusual high school experience and a request for support from the community to have a memorable senior prom.
The students remarked how they will always remember March 13, 2020, as the day they were told that in person activities were suspended during their sophomore year. As they navigated all the challenges since 2020 one thing that was lacking was fundraising activities. The students would like to hold a normal, memorable senior prom but have fallen short of their monetary goal.
Queen Anne’s County Commissioners saw the letter that was distributed and have pledged a donation to both high schools in support of their senior prom. “The Commissioners recognize how difficult COVID has been for these students and how many high school life experiences have been lost and we want them to have a prom to remember.” says County Commission President Chris Corchiarino.
If you or your organization would like to make a tax-deductible donation, please contact the advisors at one of the high schools for more information.

Students ask that cash donations be submitted by April 1, 2022, to receive a formal donation letter for tax purposes. They will also accept donations of décor, supplies or sponsorships.
