Upcoming Meetings for the QAC Comprehensive Plan
What Happens Next with the QAC Comprehensive Plan?
The public comment period for the Queen Anne’s County Comprehensive Plan and Kent Narrows Community Plan has ended. So, what happens now? Our Comprehensive Plan team has finished reviewing all comments that were submitted and made recommendations as to how they may be addressed in updated drafts to the County Commissioners. There are several upcoming meetings taking place for our County Commissioners and Planning Commission to review the draft plans and public hearings will be scheduled before adoption of the final plans in March of 2022.
Upcoming meetings:
January 13 Planning Commission Comment Review & Public Hearing
As part of their regular meeting beginning at 8:45am, the Planning Commission will review comments submitted during the 60-day public comment period. They will also hold a public hearing on both the County Comprehensive Plan and Kent Narrows Community Plan. Following the public hearing, the Planning Commission will advise our Comprehensive Plan team on final revisions that will be incorporated for the County Commissioners to review.
January 25 County Commissioner Plan Introduction
During their regular County Commissioner meeting, the County Comprehensive Plan and Kent Narrows Community Plan will be introduced, and a public hearing will be set.
March 22 County Commissioner Public Hearing & Possible Vote on Adoption
During their regular County Commissioner meeting, the County Commissioners will hold a final public hearing on the County Comprehensive Plan and Kent Narrows Community Plan. Following the hearing, the County Commissioners will vote to adopt the two plans.
