Queen Anne’s County Announces the Expansion of Broadband

Queen Anne’s County has partnered with Atlantic Broadband, Talkie Communications and ThinkBig Networks to secure State funding for the expansion of the broadband footprint in Queen Anne’s County.  We are excited to announce that several areas have been selected for this expansion.

Atlantic Broadband will build to portions of:

  1. Granny Branch Road
  2. Price Station Road
  3. Massey Ave
  4. Hayden Avenue
  5. Hayden Estates Subdivision
  6. Willow Branch
  7. Cuff’s Hollow Subdivision

Think Big will build to portions of:

  1. Duhamel Corner and Busic Church Road
  2. High Bridge Road
  3. Small portion of Route 300 west of Peters Corner Road

Talkie Communications will build to portions of:

  1. Burchard Sawmill Road
  2. Ewingtown Road
  3. Bowers Road
  4. Pondtown Road
  5. Double Creek Road

“Expansion of Broadband is great news for all of Queen Anne’s County.  It is encouraging to see so many new companies expanding into our under-served areas, and the infusion of new money will hopefully allow the expansion to continue. As part of our two-pronged approach, we will now also focus on helping our served areas get upgraded equipment to meet the future needs. It is disheartening that it took a pandemic to raise this important infrastructure need to a crisis level. I look forward to the future when everyone has accessibility to affordable and reliable high-speed connectivity.” says County Commissioner, Jack Wilson

This list may not be all inclusive of the areas that will be served by the providers mentioned. For more information about the Internet Service Provider coming to your area visit their website listed below.

Queen Anne’s County has been working for several years to bring connectivity to some of our rural and under-served areas in the county. In 2018 a Broadband Advisory Committee was formed to advise and provide recommendations to the County Commissioners on the provision of broadband services and infrastructure in Queen Anne’s County.
