Queen Anne’s County is pleased to announce the Grasonville, Kent Island, and Sudlersville Senior Centers to open by appointment only beginning May 6. Members will be welcome back in the centers with some restrictions in place. Our Senior Centers will be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Masks are required, social distancing guidelines will be in place, and health screenings and temp checks will be required upon entry. The meal program will start Monday, May 10, to ensure members are able to sign up ahead of time to reserve their meals.
Some of the activities we will begin offering include:
- Congregate Meals
- DVD Walking Group
- Rock Painting
- Book Club
- Library, Shuffleboard
- Corn Hole
- Site Council
- Computer Lab
Capacity limits are set based on social distancing guidelines; seating is limited, and appointments are required for all activities. No same day appointments allowed at this time.
Virtual programming will also continue with the following:
- Enhance Fitness
- PEARLS
- Medication Consultations
- Book Club
- Chair Exercise
- Bingo
We look forward to adding new programs in the future.
In this initial reopening plan, the following activities will not yet be permitted:
- Games
- Partner Dance Classes
- Evening Dances (including Starlite Club and Pickin’ & Grinnin)
- Puzzles
- Acoustic Jam
- Day Trips
- Potluck Events
- Weekly Sudlersville Shopping Trips
The opening has been made possible by the Governor’s orders to reopen Senior Centers safely, along with guidance from the Maryland Department of Aging and the QAC Department of Health. We will continue to reevaluate and adjust as needed. The Senior Center staff look forward to welcoming the members back!
