[ARCHIVED] County Commissioner’s Send Governor Hogan an Update on COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution

Vaccine Update (1)

On January 7, 2021, County Commissioners send a letter to Governor Hogan updating him on the vaccine distribution in Queen Anne’s County. Read the full letter below:

Dear Governor Hogan:

The County greatly appreciates your efforts to rapidly distribute the COVID vaccination to local health departments.  For our part, Queen Anne’s County is on track to deplete our initial allotments of the Moderna vaccine by Friday of this week. We have mobilized personnel from our Department of Emergency Services and our Community Services Office to assist our local Health Department with all necessary logistical requirements. Collectively we have organized and set up ongoing clinics at two of our local Fire Houses and at our County Health Department Headquarters.   These clinics have been running smoothly and we are ready and prepared to increase vaccination clinic locations and number of appointments.

Please be assured that Queen Anne's County follows the guidelines of the Secretary's Office closely.  We are now effectively organized with “all hands-on deck” to administer any quantity of vaccine that is provided to us within a very short timeframe.  We remain cautious not to overbook or encourage the public to expect an immediate vaccination not yet available to specific categories, but we are prepared to administer whatever dosages provided in very rapid order. You have our assurance concerning these matters.

Thank you for your continuing leadership.
