Queen Anne’s County plans to follow the Governor’s re-opening plan for stage 3 in the Roadmap to Recovery. Previous local orders pertaining to youth contact sports and limits on gatherings will be rescinded on Friday, September, 4 at 5:00 pm.
Highlights of Governor Hogans Stage 3 Announcement include:
- Venues for movies and live performances may open at 50% capacity, or 100 people if indoors and 250 people outdoors, whichever is less.
- Retail stores may expand operations from 50% to 75% capacity.
- Religious facilities may increase capacity from 50% to 75%.
- Face coverings in all indoor public spaces and outdoor spaces where social distancing is not possible is still required.

Queen Anne’s County will continue with capacity restrictions to Matapeake Beach and the beaches located in our nature preserves. Current capacity restrictions include:
Ferry Point Nature Preserve – 120 people
Terrapin Nature Preserve – 420 people
Matapeake Beach – 175 people
Queen Anne’s County will continue COVID-19 testing operations. Any person that is engaging in higher risk activities is recommended to get tested prior to participation and every two weeks as a preventative method. Visit qahealth.org for our current testing schedule.
