Queen Anne’s County Department of Emergency Services Continues to Monitor Tropical Storm Isaias
Queen Anne’s County Department of Emergency Services continues to monitor Tropical Storm Isaias and urges residents to prepare. We have the potential for flooding, tidal surge in low lying areas and tropical storm force winds. At this time Queen Anne’s County is under a Flash Flood Watch, Coastal Flood Watch and Tropical Storm Warning. We expect to begin seeing the effects this evening and the largest impact to our area Tuesday morning through the evening.
Some preparations we suggest:
- Refilling any prescriptions that may run out during the storm
- Having enough food and water for at least 72 hours
- Charge all devices and battery packs
- Refill batteries in your flashlight
- Have an emergency kit and a go kit with supplies for everyone in the house including your pets
- Make sure to add supplies relevant to COVID-19 in your emergency kit (2 face coverings for each person, disinfectant and hand sanitizer)
- Bring in any outdoor furniture or decorations
- Fill up your vehicle with gas
- Fill up your generator and make sure to only use outdoors
- Sign up for citizen alerts by visiting qacdes.org and clicking on the Citizen Alert button
- Do not walk, swim or drive through any flood waters
