Queen Anne’s County Department of Community Services Housing Division is seeking projects as a coordinated effort of services to include in an application submission to the Maryland Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) COVID Funding-Round #1. Potential subrecipients must have a non-profit status under the IRS Section 501(c)(3) and/or is a community-based development organization that has been certified by the CDBG Program.
This grant is for public service activities and partners must demonstrate they are implementing a new service or that they are addressing a quantifiable increase in the demand/need for existing services due to the coronavirus crisis. Some examples of projects/activities include: services for isolated/quarantined seniors, purchasing of food and food distribution, homeless assistance and services for disabled adults. The Housing Division will have the right to review all proposed projects, determine need, ensure there are no duplicated efforts and reject or deny some or all parts of a project.
If any organization is interested, they must contact Shelby Clark at sclark@qac.org or Anne Van Benschoten at avanbenschoten@qac.org by May 27, 2020 at 4pm, and be ready to have their project forms completed by June 2, 2020. This grant period is from time of award received, expected July 1, 2020, through July 31, 2022. There is $4,451,130 that will be awarded to projects throughout the State.
