The County Commissioners along with representatives of For All Seasons Behavioral Health and Rape Crisis Center recognized National Human Trafficking Awareness Month with a proclamation, during the January 14th Commissioners’ Meeting. Every year, nearly 25 million men, women, and children are trafficked and deprived of their freedom, human rights, and dignity. According to the National Human Trafficking Hotline, Maryland has one of the highest rates of domestic human trafficking in the nation, with 165 cases reported to the hotline in 2018.
