A Facebook post on Kent Island Happenings page led to countywide recognition of a teenager who did a good deed without seeking recognition.
During Tuesday’s County Commissioners’ Meeting, Elaine Butler of Character Counts, acknowledged Alex Townsend for his good character.
On November 11, James Kelly posted, “Just want to give a shout out to the wonderful crew at Main Street Car Wash. I lost a money clip with money in it a month or so ago and tore the house apart looking for it. I took a car to the car wash today and wonderful young man (named Alex) came up to me in the office and handed me my money clip with all the money in it that I had given up on ever finding. Nice to see honey hard working young men and women are still out there. My thanks to (Alex) and my compliments to his parents. They have raised a very nice young man. As an aside the Main Street Car Wash is locally owned and staffed by mostly Kent Island High School students who are ambitious and do a good job. I highly recommend them.”
