CENTREVILLE- The Queen Anne’s County Commissioners voted August 14, on Ordinance 18-09 which raises the income level from $25,000 adjusted gross annual income to $35,000 as the income level at which the county will pay the users “Ready to Serve” portion of their water and sewer bill.
Chief Sanitary Engineer Alan Quimby said the Ready to Serve portion of the bill of a homeowner with public water and sewer is $126.28 per quarter.
“As it is now, there are 55 accounts that have signed up and qualify and it costs the general fund about $22,000 annually,” Quimby said.
The original ordinance passed in 2009 did not account for inflation and this new ordinance does that, as well as raising the allowable household income by $5,000.
