[ARCHIVED] County Administrator Gregg Todd's Wrap Up of the May 8th Commissioners' Meeting

Meeting started at 8:30 with closed session with County Attorney Pat Thompson to discuss a legal issue. This was followed by an admin session to go over a number of board appointments. In open session the commissioners voted on the following appoitments:

  • Bay Bridge Airport Advisory Committee – Fred Lango and Nick Stoer to 3 year terms
  • Blue Heron Golf Course – Don Trotter and Car Eberline to 3 year terms, Serelee Hefler and Norm Fraley to 2 year terms, and John Leone to 1 year term
  • Housing Authority – Judy Kropfelder to 3 year term
  • Parks and Rec Advisory Board – Vicki Paulas to 3 year term
  •

1. Delmarva Utility Easement Agreement

2. Maryland Geological Survey Groundwater/Well Monitoring Agreement – conducting groundwater testing and well monitoring on Kent Island for Fiscal Years 2018 through 2023 in the amounts of:

FY-2019: $ 8,260.00

FY-2020: $ 8,430.00

FY-2021: $ 8,600.00

FY-2022: $ 17,320.00

FY-2023: $ 8,940.00 - all approved

3. K. Hovnanian Maintenance Agreement – for placement and maintenance of private utility within the County right-of-way. – approved

4. Solid Waste Containers – purchase four (4) 40-yard Open Top Containers from Mid-Atlantic Waste of Cordova, MD, in the amount of $26,098. – approved

1. Reimbursement Request from MDCD for CDBG for expenses paid, Chesterwye Project – approved

2. MA#18-03 Citizen Petition Proposing a Zoning Map Amendment – would require Pat to draft an ordinance – approved to draft ordinance

3. Department of Emergency Services Advisory Council appointment – Mike Rinelli approved

4. Economic Development Commission appointment – Nancy LaJoice to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Vitalos on the Economic Development Commission to begin immediately and end December 31, 2018. – approved

5. Wreaths Across America Fundraiser Request – $500 to purchase wreaths to be placed on all the graves at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock. – approved

6. Budget Amendment CC-33 – Sheriff’s Department, MD Opioid Grant – approved

7. Desk Item – Agreement letter with CHVFD on 6 month time agreement for building – held

8. Desk Item – Commissioner letter of support for new BUILD grants for Cox Creek Bridge – approved
