KENT NARROWS - During the recent Maryland Tourism and Travel Summit in Ellicott City on October 29, the Queen Anne’s County Office of Tourism earned several awards for their tourism efforts. The first award was the Cooperative Partnership Award which went to QAC, the eight other Eastern Shore Counties and Ocean City for a campaign to market Maryland’s Eastern Shore to visitors.
QAC employee Debbie Birch was the lead on the first part of the campaign which was to create a brochure and website to represent the Shore. The second part of the campaign, led by Steve Miller from Wicomico County, was to hire a travel consultant to attend the American Bus Association Marketplace and market the Eastern Shore region. The results of the group effort were the Eastern Shore Guide and the website- visitmarylandseasternshore.com, which both market the region to tourists and Shore residents alike.

QAC’s Office of Tourism also received an award for “Innovative Marketing Campaign” for its participation with Tourism, Arts and Downtown Development. This marketing campaign promotes arts across the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Lower Delaware. The campaign name is Eat! Drink! Buy Art! The Queen Anne’s County Office of Tourism represents two county towns in the campaign- Centreville and Historic Stevensville.
