[ARCHIVED] Queen Anne’s County Seeks Public Input on Breezeline Cable TV Service

Breezeline Franchise Agreement (1)

Queen Anne’s County Seeks Public Input on Breezeline Cable TV Service

Queen Anne’s County recently held a public meeting to discuss the community’s cable-related needs as part of the ongoing Breezeline Cable Franchise Renewal process. The meeting, presented in partnership with CBG Communications, Inc., provided residents with an overview of how the County’s cable franchise impacts local television programming, customer service standards, and public access channels such as QACTV.

The presentation outlined how public feedback helps shape the terms of the County’s franchise agreement with Breezeline. Key topics included the delivery and reliability of both traditional and on-demand cable services, picture and audio quality, customer service responsiveness, and support for the County’s Government and Educational (EG) Access Channel (QACTV).

Community members were encouraged to share their experiences and ideas regarding:

  • Service reliability, outage response, and repair times
  • Accessibility and performance of QACTV and educational programming
  • Equipment, facilities, and technology needed to meet local viewing needs

During the meeting, QACTV Station Manager George Harvey and TV Producer and Host Bruce Grove discussed the station’s vital role in serving the community. QACTV handles the County’s television channel, and website, acting as the official record for the County Commissioners and Planning Commission, as well as an increasing number of boards and commissions, many of which are now live-streamed for public access.

Bruce Grove also shared plans to introduce a bi-monthly live studio show, expanding coverage of local initiatives and community stories. QACTV continues to serve as a unique and valued resource, combining government transparency with community engagement.

The public is invited to visit the QACTV studio, located in the basement of the Vincit Building, 110 Vincit Street, Centreville, MD. For more information, contact Station Manager George Harvey at gharvey@qac.org or visit www.qactv.com to see what’s currently airing.

The information gathered through this process will help determine Breezeline’s obligations in the renewed franchise agreement, ensuring that Queen Anne’s County’s residents receive high-quality, responsive, and community-focused cable services.
