The Queen Anne’s County Commissioners are actively seeking individuals to fill vacancies on several Boards and Commissions. The deadline for applications is November 7, 2025.
The following boards and commissions have upcoming vacancies:

- Travel and Tourism Advisory Committee
The Animal Control Commission advises the Board of County Commissioners, the Animal Control Office, and Animal Services on matters related to animal control and services, including Federal and State regulations, and County ordinances. The Commission also sets the fees and fines for animal licensing and control. Public hearings are held by the Commission on complaints to charges of Code violation by citizens, at the request of an Animal Control Commissioner, or an animal's designation as potentially dangerous by the Animal Control Manager.
The Board of Appeals-Zoning has the powers necessary to enable it to fulfill its functions and execute the functions of Md. Land Use Code Ann. § 4-305. The Board holds public hearings on requests for variances, conditional uses and appeals relating the Queen Anne’s County Code.
The Board of Building Appeals was established by both resolution and County Code on June 26, 1984. The Board was established to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the building official, relative to the application and interpretation of the Building Code.
The Council for Children and Youth works to identify and communicate the needs, resources, and priorities of local children and families to the County Commissioners. The Council raises community awareness, encourages participation in meeting these needs, and helps families access information about available programs and services. By collaborating with public and private agencies, the Council seeks to reduce duplication, improve efficiency, and address gaps in services. Its mission is to support the intellectual, physical, emotional, and spiritual development of children and youth in Queen Anne’s County.
The Employee Awards Committee was developed to implement and administer an employee recognition program in accordance with policies and procedures adopted by the Department of Human Resources. Works closely with the Employee Communication & Morale Committee.
The Ethics Commission devises, receive and maintains all forms generated under the county Ethics Code. The commission provides published advisory opinions to persons subject to this title as to the applicability of this title to them and processes and makes determinations as to complaints filed by any person alleging a violation of the code.
The purpose of the Personnel Board is to hear and decide all appeals by members of the classified service from personnel actions taken by the County.
The Plumbing Board meets the 4th Thursday of the month starting at 9:00am. Due to the holidays in November and December, meetings are held the 3rd Thursday.
The Travel and Tourism Advisory Committee was developed to represent specific industries to provide countywide leadership in policy development, management and competitiveness to ensure that Queen Anne’s County enjoys greater economic benefits from travel and tourism spending.
