Queen Anne’s County announces temporary closures in preparation for the annual Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks at the Chesapeake Heritage and Visitors Center.
To allow for safe event setup, the Chesapeake Heritage and Visitors Center and its parking lot will be closed to the public on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. This closure helps ensure a safe and successful celebration for the community and visitors alike.
In addition, Ferry Point Park will close at sunset on Tuesday, July 1, and will reopen on Thursday, July 3, unless the event rain date is used. If inclement weather postpones the event, the rain date is scheduled for Thursday, July 3, and the park will reopen on Friday, July 4 instead.
We appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation as we prepare for this popular annual event. For event updates, please visit www.qac.org or follow Queen Anne’s County Government on social media.
