The Queen Anne’s County Commissioners have officially proclaimed July as Parks and Recreation Month, recognizing the vital role parks and recreation play in strengthening our community.
Parks and recreation services are more than just fun and games — they promote health and wellness, provide educational and development opportunities for youth, support environmental sustainability, and help drive economic development. Queen Anne’s County’s parks, trails, open spaces, and recreational programs serve residents of all ages, offering places to connect with nature, engage in physical activity, and build stronger community ties.
"Parks and recreation are the heart of our community,” said the Commissioners. “They enhance the quality of life for our residents and provide a foundation for a healthier, more vibrant Queen Anne’s County.”
The Commissioners encourage residents to explore the many parks, trails, and programs offered by the Queen Anne’s County Department of Parks and Recreation this July. Whether it’s hiking, kayaking, attending a summer camp, or enjoying an outdoor concert, there are endless ways to participate and celebrate Parks and Recreation Month.
