Governor Wes Moore, Lt. Governor Aruna Miller, and Cabinet Visit Queen Anne’s County

Governor Wes Moore, Lt. Governor Aruna Miller, and members of the Governor’s Cabinet visited Queen Anne’s County on April 4, 2025, for a full day of discussions, meetings, and site tours focused on local priorities and economic development.

The visit began at Chesapeake College’s Health Professions and Athletics Center (HPAC) in Wye Mills, where the Governor and his team participated in a series of meetings, including a closed-session cabinet meeting. Governor Moore also held a one-on-one discussion with Queen Anne’s County Commission President Chris Corchiarino, addressing key county initiatives and opportunities for state support.

During the afternoon, the Governor’s team met with county leadership and toured several locations. Governor Moore and cabinet members visited the Queen Anne’s County YMCA and Active Aging Center in Centreville and PRS Guitars in Stevensville, gaining insights into community programs and local industry. Meanwhile, Lt. Governor Aruna Miller and additional cabinet members toured the Chesapeake College Career and Technical Education (CTE) program in Wye Mills and Matapeake Beach and Clubhouse in Stevensville, highlighting workforce development, traffic mitigation efforts and park and trial expansion initiatives.

“Today was an important opportunity for Queen Anne’s County to host Governor Moore, Lieutenant Governor Miller, and the entire cabinet,” said Queen Anne’s County Board of County Commissioners President Chris Corchiarino. “I appreciated the candid conversation with Governor Moore about issues important to Queen Anne’s County like education funding and the impact of Bay Bridge traffic on our citizens. The discussion also allowed for an opportunity to emphasize the contributions our farmers and watermen provide to Maryland. We appreciate the Administration’s commitment to engaging directly with local leaders.”

This visit emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between state and local government.
