2025 Opioid Awareness Campaign Features Poster Contest and Commercial Competition
Queen Anne’s County students and youth groups are invited to showcase their creativity and help raise awareness about opioid abuse through two exciting opportunities: the 2025 Opioid Awareness Poster Contest and the 4th Annual Youth Group Opioid Awareness Commercial Competition.
These events encourage participants to use their talents to promote positive messages and educate the community about opioid issues.
2025 Opioid Awareness Poster Contest
Who Can Participate:
Open to Queen Anne’s County students in grades 6-12 in public, private, and homeschool settings.
Prizes:
- Middle School (Grades 6-8): $300 Amazon Gift Card
- High School (Grades 9-12): Choice of $300 Amazon Gift Card or a free Driver’s Education course
Participating Groups:
- Centreville Middle School
- Sudlersville Middle School
- Matapeake Middle School
- Stevensville Middle School
- Kent Island High School
- Queen Anne’s County High School
- Private and Homeschoolers, including Faith Christian School, The Gunston School, Wye River Upper School, and QAC homeschoolers
Prizes are sponsored by Economy Tree Service and Campbell’s Driving School.
4th Annual Youth Group Opioid Awareness Commercial Competition
Who Can Participate:
Open to all youth groups in Queen Anne’s County.
Theme:
“Queen Anne’s is Taking a Stand Against Opioid Abuse!”
Prize:
- $500 stipend for the winning youth group, sponsored by Economy Tree Service.
Additional Recognition for the Winning Group:
- Invitation to a County Commissioners’ meeting for recognition.
- Airing of the commercial on social media platforms.
- Recognition in The Shore Update.
Important Details for Both Events
Deadline for Entries:
All submissions are due by midnight on February 14, 2025.
Poster Contest Submission Guidelines:
- Hard copy entries: Submit to your school’s front office or the Board of Education for homeschoolers.
- Digital entries: Email PDF files to julie.kille@qacps.org with "Poster Contest," your name, school, and grade in the subject line.
Commercial Competition Guidelines:
- Commercials should be 30 seconds or less and submitted in .mp4 or .mov format.
- Upload your video to YouTube (public or unlisted visibility) and email the video URL to julie.kille@qacps.org with "Commercial Competition" and your youth group’s name in the subject line.
General Rules:
- Messages must be positive, age-appropriate, and suitable for a broad audience.
