Queen Anne’s County Recognizes Departing Economic Development Commission Members for Their Contributions

Queen Anne’s County Government extends its appreciation to five departing Economic Development Commission (EDC) members: Ed Beres, Brian DeMoss, Jesse Parks, Jeremy Reynolds, and Jaime Thompson. Their dedication and leadership have significantly contributed to the county’s steady economic growth and the creation of new opportunities.

“The invaluable service and innovative contributions of our departing EDC members have left an indelible mark on Queen Anne’s County,” stated Commission President Chris Corchiarino. “We deeply appreciate the commitment of individuals who dedicate their time and energy to local government. Their involvement has made a meaningful difference in shaping the future of Queen Anne’s County.”

County Commissioner and EDC Liaison Jack Wilson added, “It has been a privilege to work alongside such talented individuals who are deeply committed to fostering economic growth in our community. We are grateful for their expertise and leadership, which have paved the way for continued prosperity.”

The fourteen members of the EDC, appointed by the Queen Anne’s County Commissioners, bring diverse expertise in areas such as private enterprise, real estate, finance, and local leadership. As trusted advisors, the commission provides valuable recommendations to both the County Commissioners and the Department of Economic & Tourism Development on a wide range of economic issues. Their role includes offering strategic insight into policies, business development, and community investments. Through their collective knowledge and perspective, the EDC helps advance initiatives that ensure Queen Anne’s County continues to grow while preserving the distinctive qualities that make it special.

Among the departing members, Ed Beres brought a wealth of real estate expertise to the EDC, offering critical insights that aligned with the commission’s focus on smart growth, business attraction, and workforce housing. As a RE/MAX Executive Realtor, Beres provided essential knowledge about market trends and the county’s future needs. Reflecting on his six years of service, Beres shared, “One of the biggest achievements I’ve supported through the EDC was seeing the Strategic Plan evolve and experiencing the effort it takes to create and implement that plan.”

Brian DeMoss, who recently retired after selling his business, Chesapeake Burial Vaults, brought a unique blend of public service and private enterprise experience to the EDC. His insights into rural economic development and dedication to supporting local businesses and infrastructure have significantly shaped the county’s policies and initiatives.

Jesse Parks, appointed to the EDC in 2018, played a pivotal role during his tenure as Chair. He led the revitalization of the Economic & Tourism Development department, expanding its resources and staffing to meet the county’s growing needs. Parks’ leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic ensured efficient distribution of ARPA funding, helping businesses navigate unprecedented challenges. As President of KRM Development Corporation and KRM Construction Company, his expertise continues to influence the success of the Chesapeake Bay Business Park.

Jeremy Reynolds brought over two decades of experience in forensic engineering and consulting to the commission. His leadership at RTI Group, LLC, specializing in forensic analysis and risk mitigation, contributed valuable insights to support the county’s professional services industry.

Jaime Thompson’s financial acumen, as owner and CFO of Nicholynn Advisors Accounting, provided critical perspectives on resource allocation and strategic financial planning. Her expertise ensured that the county’s economic goals were effectively supported.

Looking ahead, the EDC will welcome new members in January, bringing fresh energy and ideas to continue driving economic growth. The departing members leave behind a legacy of progress and innovation, setting a strong foundation for the future.
