County Commissioners Seeking Members for Economic Development Commission
The Queen Anne’s County Commissioners are actively seeking individuals to fill vacancies on the Economic Development Commission. The deadline for applications is November 15, 2024.
The Economic Development Commission aims to foster a vibrant economy with the necessary human and business resources to provide the highest quality of life for all residents, while preserving the County’s distinctive cultural and environmental heritage.
The commission investigates and gathers information on economic resources, industrial sites, and opportunities, disseminating this information through publications, advertising, or other means. They periodically survey the overall condition of the County to determine whether it offers a community climate and services conducive to industrial and economic growth. The commission also makes recommendations to the Department of Planning and Zoning regarding the development of commercial projects.
Meetings are held the 4th Wednesday of the month at 9:00 AM. Meetings are normally held at the Chesapeake Heritage and Visitor’s Center in Chester.
We are seeking members from the following industries to be represented on this commission: manufacturing, hospitality/tourism, construction/trades, and commercial real estate.
