Middle and high school students across the Mid-Shore region are invited to participate in the "Escape the Vape" Youth Summit, scheduled for May 18, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Chesapeake College. This free event, funded by the Kent County Health Department and Maryland Department of Health and supported by the Queen Anne’s County Department of Health, Prevention Services, Citizens Against Smoking Tobacco Coalition, and Chesapeake College Office of Student Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, is designed to empower youth to embrace a vape-free and smoke-free lifestyle.
The summit will feature rap and dance performances aimed at promoting a passion for healthy choices and encouraging young people to reject harmful habits. Special guest Sterlin Barr, CEO of Rapping About Prevention, will inspire attendees with his message of positivity and resilience.
