[ARCHIVED] Urban Trees Mini Grant Program accepting applications

Urban Trees Program (2)

The Urban Trees Program and the Chesapeake Bay Trust are happy to announce that the Urban Trees Mini Grant Program is accepting applications!

Many communities benefit from having green spaces and trees to promote outdoor recreation, access to shaded areas, improved air quality, improved mental and physical health, and livability. Ultimately, this initiative will empower communities that have felt disenfranchised to take ownership with the tools needed to improve access to natural resources that connect their neighborhoods to a healthy, greener environment for current and future generations. Communities that would like to implement small planting projects are encouraged to seek support and funding through this opportunity.

What does this fund? Small planting projects in urban areas with low median household income levels, high unemployment, and neighborhoods with housing projects or that were historically red lined at any time.

Who can apply? Local governments, non-profit organizations, community and homeowner associations, faith-based organizations, and more in areas with low median household income levels, high unemployment, and neighborhoods with housing projects or that were historically red lined at any time.

How much can be awarded? Up to $5,000 per project.

Deadline: Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until all funding is expended. All proposals must be received at least eight weeks prior to the start of the proposed projects.

For more information, you can also drop into the weekly Mini Urban Trees Grant office hour! These meetings occur weekly on Wednesdays from 8:30AM to 9:30AM on zoom. Please use the following information to drop in and ask any questions regarding your application:
