Needs Your Help to Identify Areas that Still Need Reliable Internet Service
If you are currently without reliable high-speed internet the Queen Anne’s County Broadband Advisory Council wants to hear from you. The Council would like to collect addresses from areas of the County where service is poor or nonexistent. Results from the survey will help us identify areas of the county where funds need to be focused to get service to those remaining residents with unreliable or unavailable internet service.

First, take a moment to review the map that shows where high-speed internet access is already scheduled to be provided in the next 3 years. After that click the white/blue button at the top that says “Complete the Broadband Survey”
This survey asks for the following information and only one answer per address will be accepted:
- Enter Address – the address with poor or unavailable service
- Are you being served by Wired or Wireless/Satellite service?
- Provider of your service (If available)
- and whether we can contact you if needed

Last year we announced that the county had been working with several internet providers to apply for state grants to provide broadband to unserved and underserved areas. (Breezeline, Talkie Communications, Think Big and Choptank) Seventeen areas in the county were identified and internet providers sent in applications for State funding. The grant funding requested for Queen Anne’s County was $12.7M with a county contribution of $636k. This spring one provider (Talkie Communications) successfully challenged all except one grant area and now have until May 2024 to build to the portions of the areas they challenged. This means that most of the areas originally anticipated to be built by other providers will now be built by Talkie. State funding was awarded to Breezeline to build to the Tilghman Neck area by 2025. No other state funding was awarded.
