- Letter to Chairman of the AIB Nominating Committee
This is a letter to the Accountability and Implementation Board (AIB) Nominating Committee suggesting they create an advisory panel to incorporate all voices throughout the state. APPROVED 5-0
- Federal Transit Administration CARES Act Grant Agreements Round 2
This is the FTA CARES Act Grant Agreements packet for FY2020 Round 2, which is being administered through the MTA. Signing these documents informs MTA that the County accepts the Federal funding to support transit services and County Ride. We received Pre-Award Authority in May from MTA for a total of $1,001,225, prepared budget amendments for FY20 and submitted grant requests to MTA for spending. The enclosed grant awards include the second half of the award for FY20. County Attorney, Patrick Thompson, has reviewed and signed the documents. APPROVED 5-0
This is a request to upgrade phone equipment and to work with Chesapeake Telephone Systems to
expand the Mitel phone system to Sanitary, Bay Bridge Airport, Kent Island and Grasonville Senior Center as well as replace the core system at the Liberty Building via the Sourcewell pre-established government contract #0227 1 9-MBS. The cost of the Sanitary system is $54,225. The cost of the core Liberty system is $59,399.80 for a total of $113,624.80. Adequate funding is available in the IT Infrastructure budget. APPROVED 5-0
- Rural Legacy – Agreement of Sale and Project Agreement Benjamin N Armiger
This is for a 98.568-acre property owned by Benjamin N Armiger which is now ready to be submitted to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources for review and final approval. Total funding is being provided by the Rural Legacy grants program through Program Open Space, no County funds are being utilized. The Armiger property is located within the Foreman Branch Rural Legacy Area and will add to the 9,615 acres that are already preserved. APPROVED 5-0
- Health Department – Request to Award Multiple Staffing Agencies – Pandemic Support
The Queen Anne’s County Department of Health is requesting approval to award multiple staffing agencies a contract for the remaining fiscal year with the option to renew for an additional five successive years. Multiple agencies are being awarded this contract due to competitive pricing and the needs of the Health Department to obtain qualified staff quickly to address pandemic needs. The agencies we wish to award are Diskriter, Inc. out of Pittsburgh, PA., Maxim Healthcare Services out of Columbia, MD and Training Wheel out of Cape Coral, FL. APPROVED 5-0
- 2022 MACo Legislative Committee Nominations – Member and Alternate
This is a request for the recommendation of a nominee and an alternate to serve on the 2022 MACo Legislative Committee. Commissioner Jack Wilson is currently the County’s representative and Commissioner Chris Corchiarino is our alternate. Motion for Commissioner Jack Wilson to serve as the County’s representative and Commissioner Chris Corchiarino to serve as the alternate on the 2022 MACo Legislative Committee. APPROVED 5-0
- FY22 Department of Parks and Recreation Noxious & Invasive Weed Control
Department of Parks and Recreation requested bids for Noxious and Invasive Weed Control for seven properties consisting of approximately forty acres. The contract period will be October 15, 2021 to June 30, 2022. Staff recommends the award the Noxious and Invasive Weed Control bid to Economy Tree Service, Inc for $98,000 for a period of one year, with two one-year renewal options based upon funding. APPROVED 5-0
