Queen Anne’s County Begins Stage One on Friday May 15 at 5pm



Governor Hogan announced the start of Stage One in the Roadmap to Recovery for Maryland starting at 5:00 pm on Friday May 15th. The individual counties are empowered to make decisions on the timing of stage one.


Queen Anne’s County is pleased to announce that beginning Friday, May 15 at 5:00 PM we will begin Stage One. Some highlights of this are:


The stay at home order is replaced with a Safer at Home Public Health Advisory

Retail stores may open at 50% capacity

Churches may open at 50% capacity and outdoor service is encouraged

Hair salons and barbers may open for hair services only and allow 50% occupancy in their establishment.

Manufacturing may resume operations in a safe manor

Face coverings are still recommended in public and required in retail stores and public transportation


The governor has released several references for businesses to follow as they reopen in a safe manor. You can access all of these by visiting https://open.maryland.gov/backtobusiness/

County parks and trails continue to be open for passive recreation but the playgrounds will remain closed. Face coverings are not required outside unless there is a situation where social distancing is difficult or not possible.

Queen Anne’s County Health Department has set up an information line for the public to call with medical questions about COVID-19. Staff will be available by phone from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, 443-262-9900 qaccovid19.callcenter@maryland.gov
