Welcome back to the QAC Aging and Transportation Newsletter for the month of February!

Important Winter Weather Reminders- When QAC Public Schools are late due to weather, the Active Aging/Senior Centers will open with classes on time. Home Delivered Meals will be delivered as normal.
- When QAC Public Schools are closed due weather, the Active Aging/Senior Centers will be open but there will be no classes, meals, or transportation to the centers that day. There will be no Home Delivered Meals delivered.
- When Queen Anne’s County Government is operating on a delayed opening, County Offices will open at 10:00 AM. Active Aging/Senior Centers will open at 10:00 AM. Home Delivered Meals will be delivered as normal.
- When Queen Anne’s Government is closed, County Offices will be closed. Active Aging/Senior Centers will be closed. There will be no Home Delivered Meals delivered. There will be no County Ride.
- **Other closures/delays may be declared as needed. Please verify updated closure notices through our Facebook pages.

Important February Dates: - The Department and all Senior Centers will be closed on the following days this month:
- Monday, February 16, 2026, for President's Day.
- Understanding Alzheimer's & Dementia Lunch and Learn at the Sudlersville Senior Center (Registration Required) is on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. See flyer in "Upcoming Events" for more details
- The next meeting for the Caregiver's Support Group is on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. See flyer in "Upcoming Events" for more details.

New Year, New You – Keep Your Heart Healthy at the QAC Active Aging & Senior Centers!A new year is the perfect time to focus on your health and well-being, and QAC Active Aging & Senior Centers are here to support you every step of the way. Self-guided fitness rooms are available at the Grasonville, Kent Island, and Sudlersville Senior Centers, featuring commercial fitness equipment designed for safety, comfort and a wide range of abilities in a welcoming environment. These spaces are open Monday–Friday from 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, allowing members to stay active at their own pace. Use of the self-guided fitness rooms is free for members; while there is no cost to participate, voluntary donations are welcome and appreciated to help sustain our programs. In addition, the Active Aging Center offers several self-guided fitness opportunities as outlined below: - Indoor Pool and Sauna: 9:00–10:00 AM , Monday – Thursday
- Wellness Center (fitness equipment): 10:00–11:00 AM, Monday – Thursday
- Walking Track: 11:00 AM–12:00 PM, Monday – Thursday
- Open Exercise (with access to the pool, sauna, wellness center, and walking track) 1:00-2:00 PM, Tuesdays and Thursdays
February is American Heart Month, a great reminder that small, consistent habits can make a big difference. Staying active, eating balanced meals, managing stress, and staying socially connected all contribute to heart health. QAC Active Aging & Senior Centers support these goals through fitness opportunities, nutritious meals, educational programs, and social activities. Make this the year you prioritize your health and take full advantage of everything your Senior Center has to offer!

County Ride
Need a ride? Look no further! County Ride is here to make transportation a breeze. Whether you're heading to a doctor's appointment, the grocery store, or just out and about, our team is dedicated to providing quality transit services for all. GENERAL REMINDERS: - DON'T FORGET - Door to Door Service needs at least 2 days notice!
- No eating, drinking or smoking permitted on vehicles.
- Maximum of 2 bags to be carried on.
- Don’t forget we have route buses that go to Easton and Annapolis every day, and for our North County riders we go to Denton Walmart every Thursday.
