US 50/301 Ramp Management Program Continues on Kent Island to Improve Local Access and Traffic Flow Queen Anne’s County, in partnership with the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA), will continue the US 50/301 (Blue Star Memorial Highway) Ramp Management Program on Kent Island this summer. The initiative aims to encourage westbound travelers to stay on US 50/301 and help relieve congestion on MD 18 (Main Street) for local residents and emergency responders. Join the fun at two National Night Out 2025 celebrations in Queen Anne’s County! On Friday, August 1 from 5–8 p.m., the QAC Drug-Free Coalition and QAC Goes Purple will host an event at Union Wesley United Methodist Church, featuring backpack giveaways, food, dancing, and opportunities to connect with neighbors and law enforcement. Then, on Tuesday, August 5 at 6 p.m., the Centreville Police Department will host their celebration on Lawyers Row in downtown Centreville with face painting, balloon animals, a DJ, free food, and Kona Ice. Youth ages 3-16 will have an opportunity to put their love of fishing to the test! Prizes will be awarded in each category for each age bracket for catching the largest fish, the smallest fish, the most fish, and the most unusual catch. Age brackets will be 3–5-year-olds, 6–10-year-olds and 11–16-year-olds. We will provide bait, but fishermen should bring their own rod. Check - in and pre-registration is required. All levels welcome for this 8-week session which includes the physical practice of yoga poses, breathwork and guided meditation. Breezes from the Bay, birdsong, laughing children, warm sun and sometimes rain sprinkles may be included in our practice. All students must bring their own mat and two mats are highly recommended as we practice our class on the pavers in front of the building under the trees. Students may also bring any props; towels, blocks, straps, or bolsters; to help enhance their practice. Yoga class will be instructed by Kent Island Yoga in the Park.
