Queen Anne’s County Parks and Recreation announces that the tennis courts at Old Love Point Park will be temporarily closed from May 24 to May 27, 2025, for painting and striping.

We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation during this brief closure as we work to improve the courts.

US 50/301 Ramp Management Program Continues on Kent Island to Improve Local Access and Traffic Flow

Queen Anne’s County, in partnership with the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA), will continue the US 50/301 (Blue Star Memorial Highway) Ramp Management Program on Kent Island this summer. The initiative aims to encourage westbound travelers to stay on US 50/301 and help relieve congestion on MD 18 (Main Street) for local residents and emergency responders.

Exciting news! Queen Anne’s County has signed an updated Memorandum of Understanding with the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA)  and Corrigan Sports Enterprises, Inc (CSE) for the highly anticipated Bay Bridge Run! This annual event takes place on the iconic Chesapeake Bay Bridge, offering participants breathtaking views while they run, walk, or jog across one of Maryland’s most famous landmarks. Last year’s event had over 17,000 participants.

The Bay Bridge Run is a unique opportunity for fitness enthusiasts of all levels to experience the thrill of crossing the bridge on foot. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or joining for fun, this event is perfect for families, friends, and individuals looking to make unforgettable memories and showcase Queen Anne’s County as a tourism destination.

We are proud to collaborate with CSE and MDTA to ensure a safe, well-organized, and enjoyable experience for all participants. Each year we work together to manage logistics, provide necessary support, and maintain the highest safety standards.

County Commissioner Meeting May 27 at 5:15

Join us on Tuesday, May 27 for our regular County Commissioner meeting. This meeting will be a Legislative Day.

The meeting will start early at 5:15 PM for a special presentation by our local U.S Naval Sea Cadets Color Guard to Present Colors and lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Legislative Items:

  • Comprehensive Water and Sewer Plan Public Hearing (Barnstable, Aspire at Ewing Farm
  • To be voted on: Cannabis Licensed Growers, Processors and Dispensaries
  • To be voted on: Use of Plastic Bags in Queen Anne’s County

The public is encouraged to attend in person at 107 N Liberty Street in Centreville. 

The meetings are also streamed live on our website at www.qac.org/live, on QACTV Facebook and YouTube and broadcasted on QACTV’s channel on Breezeline cable channel 7 or in HD 507. 

Public comments will be accepted in person or via email and will be read during the Press and Public Comment time on the agenda. Queen Anne’s County Commissioners FY 2026 Proposed Budget  

Queen Anne’s County Commissioners have released their proposed operating and capital budget for Fiscal Year 2026. The proposed operating budget for the general fund totals $209.1 million, reflecting an 8.8% increase over FY 2025. The proposed capital budget is $47.2 million, with a six-year capital improvement plan totaling $464.8 million for all County agencies and the Board of Education. We held 3 Public Information Sessions this week to hear from residents. There is still time to send in yoru comments to publiccomment@qac.org before adoption in early June.
