  1. Haunted Trap House

    October 24, 2019, 7:00 PM - October 26, 2019, 11:00 PM @ Kennard African American Cultural Heritage Center

Almost 30 years ago, in Oct 1989, an amazing substance abuse prevention program launched in Centreville. The town’s police chief at that time wanted to combine Halloween, Red Ribbon Week, and National Crime Prevention Month into one community-based event. His brainchild, “The Haunted Crack House Project,” told the tale of Liz, a 16-year-old entangled in the web of addiction. After worldwide replications of the project since 1989, we are bringing the incredible presentation back to the community in which it was created— for a 30th anniversary edition centered on the current opioid crisis.

  1. Haunted Trap House

    October 24, 2019 - October 26, 2019 @ Kennard African American Heritage Center

The Haunted Crack House project was the dramatic representation of what can happen in the life of a substance abuser. With a spooky, haunted house atmosphere as a backdrop, guests are taken though realistic scenes depicting the tragedy of a young teen who becomes entangled in the web of addiction. The opioid epidemic is devastating our community. We have too many lethal and non-lethal overdoes in Queen Anne's County each year. With this in mind, our executive steering team changed the name to, "Haunted Trap House", after much discussion and with input from the target population-middle and high school-aged students and young adults.
