Kent Narrows Landing

Admission Fee

Q.A. Co Public Landing Permit Required

Features

  1. Boat Ramp
  2. Restrooms

This 1.0 acre site is primarily used for boat launching from the two 34 foot wide boat launching ramps.  It has parking for approximately 85 vehicles and wheelchair accessible portable toilets are provided year round.

This is one of the premiere public boat ramps on the Queen Anne’s County side of the lower Chester River, and as a result this site is heavily trafficked throughout the summer months.  The landing sits on the eastern side of Kent Island, where the oldest English settlement in what is now the state of Maryland was established at Kent Fort in 1631.  Paddlers should use this location with caution due to the heavy boat traffic and swift currents in the Narrows, which run up to three knots.  Boaters will find this is an excellent staging area for cruising east towards Queenstown (5 miles), northwest towards Rock Hall (11 miles), or out into the open waters of the Chesapeake Bay (8 miles). Pets are allowed at this location on a leash.

Please make sure to purchase a QAC Public Landings Permit to use this landing.  Failure to display the permit will result in a $50 citation.
