Queen Anne’s County Commissioners have proclaimed September 2025 as No Matter What…You Matter Suicide Prevention Month in Queen Anne’s County.

Suicide remains a critical public health concern. Nationally, nearly 49,300 Americans died by suicide in 2023—tragically, the highest levels seen since 1941, with one life lost every 11 minutes. Across the country, 5.5% of adults report experiencing serious suicidal thoughts, and more than 42% of U.S. adults personally know someone who has died by suicide.
