We wanted to reach out and thank you for your participation in the feasibility study for Queen Anne’s County's first indoor recreation center.
In February, the Department of Parks & Recreation launched this study to assess the best location and design for the new center. Since then, the County’s consultant, BerryDunn, conducted a rigorous needs assessment, gathering valuable input from our community. With your help, the team has identified potential locations and developed a preliminary floorplan, as well as capital and operating budgets for the project.
Last week, our Parks and Recreation Department and BerryDunn presented these preliminary results to the County Commissioners. If you’d like to learn more, you can watch the presentation here, and view the presentation slides here.
Although the final study will be complete in December, the Parks and Recreation Department is using the preliminary findings to prepare budget requests for the upcoming year.
We’ll keep you updated on any new developments. Thank you again for your interest and input as we work together to create a vibrant new resource for our community!
