On Monday, April 3rd the Maryland Commission on African American History and Culture will be holding this month's meeting at the Kennard High school Cultural Heritage Center starting at 11am.(410 Little Kidwell Ave, Centreville, MD) The meeting is open to the public and refreshments will be served. The commission will report on present and upcoming cultural initiatives, the African American Heritage Preservation Program grant, and hear presentations by interested guests. The 1864 Maryland "Emancipation Quilt" will also be on display in the Kennard African American History Museum. Information on an upcoming Emancipation Quilt presentation and quilting workshop by Dr. Joan M. E. Gaither will be announced.
