On Wednesday, September 13, County and State Leaders recognized Kenneth R. Scott for his dedication and service to the community throughout his tenure on the Queen Anne’s County Board of Appeals. Scott received a proclamation from County Commission President, Jim Moran before a large gathering of friends, family, and colleagues.
Scott began his term as a member of the Queen Anne’s County Board of Appeals on June 3, 2003, filling the unexpired term of Wayne Gardner. He was officially appointed as a member of the Board of Appeals on December 14, 2004, marking the beginning of his journey in public service.
Over the years, Scott's commitment and contributions to the Board of Appeals were exemplary. He was elected Vice-Chairman of the Board on March 7, 2012, and later assumed the role of Chairman on January 13, 2016, showcasing his ability to lead and guide the Board effectively.
Throughout his tenure of 19 years, ending on December 31, 2022, Scott consistently demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and dedication to his position, always prioritizing the best interests of the County. His commitment and service have left an incredible mark on the Board of Appeals and the community it serves.
Scott's departure from the Board of Appeals marks the end of an era. He will be deeply missed by his fellow Board Members and the dedicated staff of the Department of Planning & Zoning, who have had the privilege of working alongside him.
