Andrea Schulte Recognized as Queen Anne's County's Teacher of the Year 2023-2024

Andrea Schulte Recognized as Queen Anne's County's Teacher of the Year 2023-2024

Andrea Schulte, a dedicated educator known for her unwavering commitment to student growth and empowerment, has been named the 2023-2024 Queen Anne's County Teacher of the Year. With a passion for teaching and fostering creative thinking, Schulte has made a profound impact on the lives of countless students throughout her career.

Schulte's journey in education began in her home state of Pennsylvania, where she discovered her calling while volunteering her time to work with children. Her desire to make a difference led her to Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where she pursued a degree in animation. Excelling both academically and artistically, Schulte graduated in December of 2000 with a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education. She later obtained her Master's Degree in Art Therapy/Art Education from the same institution in 2010.

In 2001, Schulte embarked on her teaching career in Queen Anne's County, Maryland. Since then, she has dedicated countless hours to shaping the minds of her students, encouraging them to think freely and embrace knowledge and dreams. Over the years, Schulte has taught various subjects, including Science, Math, and Middle and High School Art. Her passion and enthusiasm for these subjects have been contagious, inspiring her students daily.

Schulte's impact extends beyond the classroom walls. She has led Destination Imagination teams to world championships, demonstrating her commitment to fostering creativity and innovation. Additionally, Schulte serves as the Visual Arts Department Chair and as an advisor for the National Art Honor Society, Art Club, and Photography Club. She also co-advises the National Honor Society, guiding students in their pursuit of academic excellence.

Beyond her professional achievements, Schulte is an active member of the Kent Island Community. She has chaired the Mom Prom alongside other teachers to raise funds for the school's American Cancer Society Relay for Life Team. In her leisure time, Schulte cherishes moments with her husband Brendan and their sons Caeden and Gavin. Together, they enjoy watching baseball games, embarking on family travels, and camping adventures.

Queen Anne’s County Commissioners issued a Proclamation at their recent meeting, recognizing Schulte as Queen Anne's County's Teacher of the Year for 2023-2024.
