TOURING HISTORIC QUEEN ANNE’S COUNTY, MARYLAND
Mark your calendars for 6 very special First Saturdays in 2023, May through October, when the Queen Anne’s County’s historic sites jointly open to visitors to provide tours revealing the historic impact and importance of the sites in America’s founding. Spend the day or just a few hours touring train stations, colonial houses, an operating grist mill, a country store, an early courthouse, and churches. Admission is free, but donations are accepted at all sites.
Brochures are available throughout the County listing the sites, opening days and times. More information, special tours, or a free heritage guide map are available by calling 410-604-2100. Additional information may be found at www.historicqac.org.
Stevensville Arts & Entertainment District has recently released a Self-Guided Tour App that can be downloaded through the APP Store by searching Visit Queen Anne’s County. Once downloaded, you will be able to follow the map to 23 historic sites located in the district. Many of these Stevensville Historic sites are open to tour on the First Saturday of the month, April through November, in conjunction with activities and events in Historic Stevensville Arts & Entertainment District.
Also, this year visitors to the sites will be eligible to win a prize by completing the Queen Anne’s County HISTORIC SITES CONSORTIUM PASSPORT. A Passport can be obtained at the first site visited and will be stamped as you visit each site. After completion, Passports will be collected at the last site visited for a chance to win prizes.
