Guided Nature Walk at Terrapin Park
Saturday, June 10, 2023
Join our Rangers for a leisurely walk in one of Queen Anne’s County hidden gems. Terrapin Park is home to a large wildflower meadow and tidal marsh providing a haven for wildlife. Matapeake Beach has a breathtaking view of the Chesapeake Bay, and a unique history. Topics will vary and may touch on the history of the park, the tides, the Chesapeake Bay, and the bridge. With certainty, seasonal flora and fauna will be discussed. This is a time to learn as well as connect with nature and to focus on all the sights, smells, and sounds around you. Tours are open to all ages and typically last an hour and a half. You are welcome to bring any of the following: a notebook, a field guide, binoculars, magnifying glass, and recording device to record bird calls. Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate shoes for uneven terrain. Pre-registration is required.
