Looking for volunteers:
The Queen Anne’s County Commissioners are looking for county citizen volunteers to fill vacancies on the Social Services Board. Anyone interested in serving is encouraged to send a letter of interest and a brief resume to firstname.lastname@example.org or via mail to Lynda Thomas, 107 N. Liberty Street, Centreville, MD 21617. Those with questions may also reach Ms. Thomas at 410-758-4098. Deadline for submissions will remain open until filled.
The State of Maryland initiated the Social Services Board in 1967. They are regulated by the Maryland Association of Social Services Boards’ Rules of Operating Procedure and internal structure.
The Social Service Board serves in an advisory capacity to the director and members act as liaisons to bring concerns from their communities and to take back information. Social Services Board members participate in the process to select the Director of Social Services for appointment and complete the Director’s annual performance evaluation with the Department of Human Resources.
